Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine - Fish Facility

This new fish research facility was one of the first automated facilities in the country. Along with a state-of-the-art Brine Shrimp Growth Facility, the 7,000 fish tanks are fed by robotic feeders that maintain consistent amounts of food dispensed. Lighting was designed for even distribution vertically on all fish tanks and would help mimic the circadian rhythm. Care was taken to improve the overall longevity of the facility by specifying durable non-corrosive materials in all applications of the project. The facility includes a smaller nursery for breeding fish and 2 larger fish rooms for adult fish. The fish rooms are supported by Microscope Rooms, a Mutagenesis Room, Reverse Osmosis Room, Environmental Room and Case / Glass wash.
